Mindfulness For Singers
Next One - Saturday 15th October @ BHASVIC: 10am-5pm

We are happy to announce that this will be the FOURTH one of these workshops. Novices and professional singers alike often experience fear, anxiety, pressure, shyness, self doubt and nerves around singing, practising or performing. These emotions can be debilitating and can hold you back from experiencing your voice with joy and openness. The inner critic is something that we all have to deal with but how do we recognise it, learn to ignore it and, better still, laugh at it. This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to use the skill of mindfulness combined with singing to breakthrough any negative self talk around your voice or performing. The day includes meditations, discussions, Qi Gong, vocal exercises and highly supported performances. Suitable for all levels, not just pros. This is a very supportive and welcoming workshop and there is no need to feel worried or self conscious about it or about singing in front of others. We're all in this together. If you're unsure, read the testimonials below. Investment - £60.
Cancellation policy: No refund is given if you are giving less than one weeks notice, unless you can find a friend to replace you. Thank you for your consideration.
Workshop Testimonials
"What did I get from the day? Wow! Where do I start? It was a pretty big moment for me, being able to 'perform' in front of a crowd for the first time. So first of all, that's a pretty big monkey off my back! The mindfulness aspect of the workshop has been slowly getting fixed in my mind, and I've found myself using it, almost without really trying. I've been at home, playing and singing, and those positive voices have been piping up!! It really is a massive turn around. I don't think I had really realised how negative that voice was. The affirmation 'my story matters' has been so powerful, and that in itself is a wonderful gift!! What else was really good was the physical side of the workshop, I feel a closer connection to my body when I'm singing now, which when coupled with the mindfulness, makes me feel more at ease in myself." Darren Godbold.
"I got to cry and sing in public both of which make me very uncomfortable. The day was just what I needed just not sure why yet? It reinforced for me that there always seems to be a process and if you want something you need to work at/for it. However, it also highlighted for me, that there are easier/more productive ways of doing that. Thank you Sally, I really liked your approach and I feel the day was of benefit to me. I am putting some of the mindfullness techniques into practise and will hopefully see the results in time." Anne French
"I loved the opportunity to be with likeminded people with similar anxieties (performing live) to my own. I very much enjoyed the meditation techniques and feedback from everyone." Emma Meston
"I learnt a lot about my performance fears and where they originate. Learnt some ways to help my body to cooperate with me when i am in high adrenaline mode, met some lovely people, and reconnected with my voice." Karolina Michalak
"I think the opportunity to perform in the most supportive of environments is great. It’s the perfect place to start, as everyone watching is in the same position as you are, and only want good things for you. I was obviously in the right position to get couple of realisations, which is great for me. And such a lovely group of people, it felt like one group rather than a lot of individuals." Lindsey Oliver
